GOALS FOR 2004
- The war-torn country of Chad Africa only has one surgeon and one incubator. Several needed medical supplies, school kits, and safe birth kits are currently being assembled for two 10,000 lb. containers. A couple of news articles are also featured under the Press link in the Hearts and Hands site. - Manufacturing 60,000 school kits for Zambia's AIDS-orphaned children. 380 of these school kits were recently assembled by the J.R. Smith Elementary School students in Heber City, UT. These kits are to fill a need for Mothers Without Borders, Project Concern, and UNICEF.
- Pharmaceutical supplies are needed for malnourished children in Equador.
- 5000 safe birth kits for Mothers Without Borders and Project Concern.
- 60,000 pairs of shoes for students in Africa.
Additional Goals
Another one of Hearts and Hands goals is to help individuals and businesses to understand the incredible benefits that come from serving others each and every day. Often times they find that people are caught up in thinking "I'll contribute my time, talent, or treasures after I have received." What they have found, is that giving first generally increases the amount that is received. I am sure you have found this fact to be true about the laws surrounding money. If people could truly understand this simple principle they would always have sufficient for their needs in every aspect of their lives. This parent charity and its member charities have certainly found this to be true. Each of us needs to look around us and find a need. For some it may be caring for children with AIDS, for others it may be building schools in Peru, others passions may be working in the inner-cities, or with Juvenile Diabetes whatever your passion is pick something. Do something. And include your family. Because each person's effort does a make a difference no matter the age, financial means, education, or limited time. We have each been tremendously blessed. We now have an opportunity to share our abundance with many more families through this incredibly effective organization.
